Welcome

Dermatologists are physicians who have expertise in the care of the body's largest and fastest-growing organ–the skin, as well as structures derived from the skin, such as the hair and nails.1 The majority of dermatologists see a range of patients with a variety of skin conditions. In fact, the scope of practice for these clinicians is incredibly broad–the average dermatologist can identify and treat more than 3000 conditions. Many dermatologists also perform cosmetic procedures.1

While many simple, common skin conditions can be addressed by primary care doctors, dermatologists often come into play when the diagnosis is difficult, when the disease may have potential systemic manifestations, or if patients require more aggressive treatment.2,3

The team includes a wide range of professionals, including–but not limited to–clinicians with considerable experience in the management of psoriasis. Throughout this module, we'll be hearing from our internal experts.

Now, let's continue with this module, which will provide a basic understanding of dermatologists, their practices, and their patients. Select each lesson for a brief overview.
