Biomarker, Biologic and Immunotherapies
Topic 1

Recent progress in our understanding of genetic mutations and the abnormal proteins they create has given us new insights into how CRC develops and has allowed researchers to develop new drugs that specifically target these changes. Targeted agents for the treatment of CRC target specific genetic mutations, while immunotherapeutic agents target immunological mechanisms that cancer cells use to survive and proliferate. Immunotherapeutic agents have been developed that help a person's own immune system recognize and destroy cancer cells.
