ANTICANCER AGENTS AND THE IMMUNITY CYCLE

The cancer immunity cycle can be divided into 7 major steps, starting with the release of antigens from cancer cells and ending with the killing of cancer cells. Any one of these steps may break down, allowing cancer to potentially invade the body. Here you see potential role of agents that target each step of the cycle. Agents that target different steps may potentially be combined in therapy for greater effectiveness, such as chemotherapy and an anti-PD-L1 agent such as atezolizumab.
