CRC SCREENING AND DIAGNOSIS

Introduction

Colorectal cancer is often asymptomatic in its earliest stages. In some cases, an asymptomatic patient may be suspected of having colorectal cancer due to the appearance of iron-deficiency anemia, or a positive fecal occult blood (FOB) screening test conducted during routine physical examination. In this chapter, we will look at screening tests for CRC and explore how it is diagnosed.
